The world is a vast, diverse place, and its geography reflects this. It is divided into seven continents: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania. Each of these continents has its own unique features and characteristics that set it apart from the others. Africa is the second-largest continent in the world and is home to a wide range of climates and ecosystems. It includes some of the world’s most iconic landscapes such as the Sahara desert, the Serengeti plains, and Victoria Falls. Africa is rich in natural resources such as oil, gold and diamonds. Antarctica is the coldest continent on Earth with an average temperature of -56 degrees Celsius (-69F). It’s covered in ice year round with no permanent human settlement or vegetation. Antarctica also holds many scientific research stations that study its unique environment. Asia is the largest continent in terms of landmass and population, home to some of the world’s oldest civilizations such as China and India. It contains a wide variety of cultures and climates ranging from tropical rain forests to icy mountains. Major rivers like the Yangtze River flow through parts of Asia while other areas are dominated by deserts like those found in Central Asia or Mongolia. Europe is home to some of the most iconic cities in the world including London, Paris, Rome and Madrid. It has a temperate climate with warm summers and cold winters depending on location within Europe’s varied landscapes which range from rolling hills to soaring mountain ranges like those found in Switzerland or Norway. North America contains Canada, Mexico and USA among other countries spread across an area larger than any other continent except for Asia. The majority of North America’s landmass lies just south of Canada’s Arctic Circle where tundra regions dominate much of its geography while further south you can find lush rainforests like those found in Mexico or Central America as well as dry deserts like those found in western USA states such as Arizona or Nevada.
